Emergency dental care


Emergency or urgent treatment means treatment that the dentist considers necessary to relieve severe pain (eg. toothache or dental abscess) or prevent your oral condition deteriorating before you can make a normal appointment.

We offer a small number of appointments during practice opening hours for patients who need urgent treatment, but do not have an appointment. If you think you need urgent treatment you can contact us by phone on 01744 739600

Mon – Thurs: 9:00am – 5:30pm 

 Fri: 8.30am – 4.00pm

Please note - reception are not available to telephone for the last 30 minutes of each day

Out of Hours Care

When the practice is closed, and you have an urgent dental problem you feel is unable to wait until the surgery re-opens, NHS England provides a basic emergency service for all patients.

If you are experiencing:

  • severe pain not controlled by regular pain relief taken for 48 hours
  • uncontrolled bleeding
  • large swelling
  • dental trauma
  • any other condition that is causing you to feel acutely unwell

please call their dental helpline on 0161 476 9651 for assistance or advice.

For all other patients not experiencing any of these conditions please contact the practice when it re-opens.
